Our first job is to understand your business
Through a series of questionnaires, surveys and discussions, Summit works with each client to capture the business requirements that the WLAN must meet. This process gathers the following sorts of information:
- current business demands in terms of the number and type of tasks to be performed on the WLAN
- current number of users, and number anticipated in 1, 3, 5 years
- traffic volume
- types of data to be supported
- the impact of legacy systems on the new WLAN and vice versa
- existing LAN and WLAN technologies
- current security measures, technologies, strategies
What can this WLAN offer you in the years to come?
In addition to documenting your current business needs, we also work with you to help you better understand options for leveraging your WLAN in the future. And we will design a solution that incorporates whatever level of IT support you need, from full in-house staffing to fully outsourced services. We will work with you to define:
- the anticipated WLAN-based technologies to be supported in the future
- the support requirements of your IT staff
The net result is a functional specification to meet current needs captured in a design that will accommodate anticipated needs.
